Getting started

Kamembert is a single, self-contained executable. There is no installer and no setup wizard.

Download it, double-click to run, then point it at something to scan:

  1. Pick a whole drive (like C:\) or any single folder.
  2. The scan starts on a background thread. The window stays responsive the whole time, and the chart fills in as files are counted. Even a large drive is usually a matter of seconds, not minutes.
  3. When it finishes you have a full picture of where your space went, ready to explore.

Recent drives and folders are remembered, so the next scan is one click. Better still, your last scan is cached: reopen a drive and Kamembert shows it instantly, then quietly rescans in the background and updates the chart when it is done. Everything it stores stays on your machine.

Nothing is deleted automatically. Kamembert only shows you what is there. You decide what goes, and anything you remove goes to the Recycle Bin.
